Educational Presentations
Two educational presentations will be offered during the awards banquet.
Important Soft Tissue Anatomy for the Horse Owner
Description: Explore the anatomy of commonly injured soft tissue structures in athletic horses. Please note that actual dissections of equine specimens will be displayed during this presentation.
Speaker: Dr. Steve Hardy, DVM
Dr. Hardy received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of California, Davis. With decades of experience, he currently practices equine medicine at H Bar H Veterinary Clinic in Eagle, Idaho.

Training Effects on the Equine Suspensory Ligament
Description: Discover current research on how training conditions may affect the equine suspensory ligament, including training processes, work conditions, injury risk, and prevention.
Speaker: Meghan Slaughter, MS, Equine Kinesiologist
Meghan earned her Bachelor of Animal Science degree from Cal Poly University, San Luis Obispo, and her Master of Kinesiology degree from Boise State University. She is a USDF Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medalist and is currently the Head Trainer and co-owner of Whisper Creek Dressage, an equestrian training and boarding facility in Middleton, Idaho.
